Amalfi Coast Boat Tour from Sorrento
One boat, one crew, one coastline that belongs to you for the day. A fully private gommone from Sorrento to Positano, Furore and Amalfi, with a professional skipper at the helm and no one else on board but your group.
from €1.500
An Amalfi Coast boat tour from Sorrento is the most direct, and the most beautiful, way to reach Positano, Praiano and Amalfi: open water from the very first minute, the Lattari mountains falling straight into the sea, and pastel villages revealing themselves one cove at a time. With Strider Amalfi you board a single premium SACS rigid inflatable, driven by twin Mercury V10 400hp engines, with a captain always included and never more than eight guests aboard. This is a private charter built around your day, not a shared excursion, so you decide where to swim, where to linger and where to drop anchor for lunch.
At a glance
- Fully private charter, never shared - the whole boat is yours for up to 8 guests
- Professional skipper included on every departure, no licence or experience needed

- A tailor-made route - swim stops, the Furore fjord, lunch ashore, all at your pace
- Premium SACS with teak deck, sun pads, fridge and Bluetooth sound system
- Flexible weather policy: if the sea turns, we reschedule or refund in full
The itinerary
Boarding in Sorrento
We meet you at the port in the Sorrento area, load towels and cooler, run through the plan over an espresso and cast off. Your skipper shapes the route around the forecast and what you want from the day.
Punta Campanella & Li Galli
We round the tip of the peninsula past the Punta Campanella reserve and the Li Galli islets, the mythical home of the sirens, before the coastline opens onto the Amalfi side.
Positano from the sea
The classic approach to Positano: the cascade of houses, the dome of Santa Maria Assunta and Spiaggia Grande seen the way they were meant to be seen, from the water. Time for a first swim in the bay.
Furore Fjord & Conca dei Marini
We slip under the Furore bridge into the narrow fjord, then anchor off Conca dei Marini near the Emerald Grotto for a long swim in some of the clearest water on the coast.
Amalfi & Atrani
Cruise past the cathedral of Amalfi and the tiny neighbouring village of Atrani. Step ashore for lunch at a seafront restaurant, or we stay anchored and enjoy your own picnic on board.
Hidden cove, aperitivo on board
On the way back we choose a quiet inlet under the cliffs for a final swim, snorkelling and an aperitivo on the teak deck while the light turns golden.
Return cruise to Sorrento
An easy run back along the peninsula, the coastline glowing behind you, and we deliver you back to the port in Sorrento. Timings flex freely - the day is yours.
Why start from Sorrento
Sorrento sits at the hinge between two gulfs, which makes it the ideal launch point for the Amalfi Coast and for Capri alike. From here you are already at the mouth of the Sorrentine peninsula, so there is no long transfer eating into your day: minutes after leaving the port you are rounding Punta Campanella and the Amalfi villages begin to appear. We pick you up directly at the port in the Sorrento area, so you walk a few steps from your hotel and step straight onto the boat. If you would rather keep the day closer to home base, take a look at our Sorrento boat tour; if your heart is set on the southern villages, the full Amalfi Coast boat tour is the natural companion to this route.

Aboard the SACS: your private gommone
Strider Amalfi runs a single boat, and only one group goes out at a time. It is a premium SACS rigid inflatable with a teak deck, leather seating, a generous bow sun pad, a fridge on board and a Bluetooth sound system for your own playlist. Twin Mercury V10 400hp engines make the long stretches effortless and let your skipper hold a soft, comfortable line even when the breeze picks up. With a maximum of eight guests there is real space to spread out, swim off the stern and move around freely. The captain is always included - you never touch the wheel unless you want to - so everyone, including the person who usually drives, gets to switch off and enjoy the coast.

What the day costs
Pricing is per boat, not per person, so the rate is the same whether you are a couple or a group of eight. A single day private charter starts from €1,500, with fuel for the standard Amalfi Coast itinerary and your skipper included. Coming back more than once, or sharing the boat across a longer stay? The seven-trip package is €7,499. A weekend surcharge of €250 applies on Saturdays and Sundays, and an August surcharge of €500 applies in peak season. If the weather makes the sea unsafe we never sail for the sake of it: your charter is rescheduled to another day or refunded in full.

Frequently asked
Where exactly does the boat leave from in Sorrento?
We board at the port in the Sorrento area and meet you there at the agreed time. Once your date is confirmed we send the precise meeting point and a pin, and we can usually accommodate a pickup close to your hotel along the peninsula.
How long does it take to reach the Amalfi Coast from Sorrento?
With twin Mercury V10 400hp engines, you are off Positano in roughly 25 minutes on calm water after rounding Punta Campanella. Because there is no long transfer, you spend the day on the coast rather than getting to it.
Is the price per person or for the whole boat?
It is for the whole boat. A single day private charter starts from €1,500 for up to eight guests, so a couple and a group of eight pay the same base rate. Weekend and August surcharges may apply.
Can we choose where we stop, swim and have lunch?
Yes - that is the point of a private charter. Your skipper proposes a route based on the sea and the season, then adapts it live to you: more swimming, a long lunch in Amalfi, the Furore fjord, or a quiet cove away from the crowds.
Do we need a boat licence or any experience?
No. A professional captain is always included and runs the boat for you. You simply relax on board; this is a private guided charter, never a self-drive bareboat rental.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We only sail when the sea is safe and enjoyable. If conditions are poor on your date, we reschedule the charter to another day that suits you or refund it in full - no risk on your side.
Can the same trip continue to Capri or Positano?
Absolutely. Many guests pair the Amalfi Coast with Capri or focus the day on Positano. Tell us your priority and we build the route around it, or see our dedicated [Positano boat tour](/en/positano-boat-tour) for a Positano-centred day.
